Hydra boasts an extremely beautiful landscape with a simple architecture with no congestion but also fresh air: vehicle access on the island is totally prohibited. Pedestrian areas are generous and distances can be crossed by tourists on donkeys or bicycles. Hydra is the most beautiful island in the Saronic Gulf.

Venice is synonymous with romance. Of course there are detractors, but most people love this city, imagining it as a symbol of love, inspired by stories of love sheltered by the walls of buildings shriveled.

Why Victoria Falls is Special

When the calm flowing waters of the Zambezi River encounter the 1700-meter (1-mile) wide edge of the Victoria Falls gorge on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border, they abruptly plunge 100 meters (330 feet) to the bottom. The impact generates soaring mists and thunderous sounds that I could see and hear from great distances

Victoria Falls lies on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia and it's possible to view it from both sides. I cannot judge which side offers a better view, as I saw it only from Zimbabwe. However, according to most sources, Zim side offers a wider and better view because it has as many as 16 viewpoints, while Zambia has just one. Besides, accommodation and activities are said to be more expensive in Zambia

 

Worst & best times to visit

Generally, it's best to avoid the peaks of the rainy season (when the mist can become so thick you see little) and dry season (when the water volume can noticeably ease). The weather is typically ideal at all other times.

Which side is best?

For the best rim-level view, visit the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls. For the best base-level view, walk down the rain-forest footpath on the Zambia side. For the best overall view, book passage on one of the Zambian or Zimbabwean flight-seeing tours - only then will you appreciate the size of this wonder.

Globetrotters forever debate which is mightier, Victoria Falls or Iguazu Falls in South America. It's virtually a toss up, with a slight edge going to Iguazu Falls. Either way, both are considerably grander than the much smaller Niagara Falls.

The annual Hindu celebration is a World wide multi-day event. Locally it was celebrated on Saturday and Sunday in Niskayuna. The event is held for Hindus to worship the Goddess Durga and to pray to her for well being for the community and family for the year ahead. Dixit listens to peoples prayers for the coming year and then offers the flowers to the goddess on behalf of the worshipe.
